Love the Chin Rubs!

Hi, this is Ed here.  I am going to tell you about myself.  I am up for adoption, and I am looking for a home I can call my own.  I love dogs and sometimes I even try to lick them.  I'm not sure if I would like another cat friend, because I have not met one yet.  I'm using the litter box like a good boy. Giving me some loving on top of my head is a requirement of my new family, but I prefer you leave my back alone.  My favorite spot to be pet on is under my chin.  Ohhhh...that feels so good!

Ed's Story

Sweet Ed was hit by a car on the highway on January 16, 2016.  The weather was awful and he was out in temperatures that were 30 below windchill.  The people who found him said that when they bent over to push his lifeless body off the road, he sat up and tried to be petted.  Ed was brought in to Dr. Lewison and arrived unconscious with 3 jaw fractures and trauma to his front leg, abdomen, eye and had broken teeth.

Ed had been hospitalized since then and has required multiple tooth extractions, his jaw was wired shut while it healed, a hernia repaired and he had a feeding tube.  His jaw healed and after 2 months the feeding tube came out and Ed started eating on his own.

While Ed was hospitalized, he met a young girl who felt pretty bad that Ed had been at the clinic for so long.  She spent a bit of time with Ed there and saw that he would play and run around, but had some unique qualities and would get a bit grumpy at her when she interacted with him.  One day she decided she would bring Ed home to foster him for a short time and see how he did in a home.  This is Ed's story.  While we do not know anything about Ed before his terrible night when he arrived at the clinic, we do know that he has made a huge transformation and survived something terrible since then.

Ed does still have a few challenges and is looking for a very special home to call his own.  Please follow this blog and share the link freely so we can all help Ed find a home.  If you are interested in adopting Ed, please contact the Lakeside Companion Animal Clinic in Cottonwoon, Minnesota at 507-992-0200.

We will update more on Ed soon!!
